Deanery Silent Retreat Walk The Deanery Silent Retreat Walk will be held on Saturday 18th September this year and the theme is The Saints. The walk begins at Cocking Parish Church with coffee / tea being served at 10.30 am.
As usual we will have a route leader and there will be three or four meditations during the walk, which will take approximately 3½ hours including a break for lunch (each person to bring their own). At the conclusion of the walk there will be a Eucharist in the parish church.
It would be helpful to know how many will be taking part so please inform Patrick Le Pla at 01730 892054 on or before Monday 13th September to ensure that there will be sufficient cups of coffee / tea & biscuits available.

Richard Durrant Concert The concert on 26th August at 7:30pm will cover a broad spectrum of classical guitar music and it will be an excellent evening. Tickets £12 (£10 concessions) are available from Betty Marston or Joy Davies and from ‘Stepping Out’, North St, Midhurst.
Holiday Club Holiday Club will run from Monday 26th-30th July. The theme is “SHINE from the inside out”. We are in need of volunteers to register the children as they arrive in the mornings. This involves being at the Methodist Church Hall from 9.10am to 9.45am. If you can help on all or some of the mornings please contact Margaret on 813041 or the Parish Office on 815356.

Madhurst Songs of Praise We are planning a Songs of Praise at 6pm on the Sunday we launch MADHURST, August 22nd. If you have a favourite hymn, that you would like to introduce (by talking about why it is your favourite for no more than 2 minutes) then please let Paul Legrave know, and he will gather them in, and choose a good balance.
Deanery Pilgrimage 2011 A Pilgrimage for the Midhurst Deanery to the Shrine at Walsingham has been booked for next year. The dates are Monday 6th June to Friday 10th June 2011. Places are limited and early booking is essential. A £10 deposit is required at the time of booking. For further details please contact Sue Haines on 816526.
Congratulation Jonathan Moores Jonathan has been passed by the Bishop’s Advisory Panel and been recommended for Ordination in the Church of England. This is great news! He will now be going to study at Trinity College, Bristol in September 2010.
Church News : 14th May 2010
Gift Day June 19th is our Gift Day, running from 10am to 4pm. As well as teas and refreshments, we will also have hand bell ringing, an organ recital, poetry for children and singing by the choir.
Breakfast To help promote Gift Day, a breakfast will be held on Saturday 5th June.
Holiday Club This will run from July 26 to July 30 this year. There is meeting for anyone interested in helping at the Methodist Hall on Monday 17th May at 7:30pm.
Summer Festival Our Summer Festival will take place on July 24th, and will be held as usual in the Market Square, with stalls, refreshments and music. More details will be displayed in church shortly. If you would like to help with a stall, please speak to Joy on (01730) 812807. We are in need of items for Tombola and Raffle, Cakes, Craft Items and Teddy Bears/Soft Toys (for the ‘Samboogie’ Stall).
Easy FundRaising update Over the last few weeks, an additional £40 has been raised from our association with EasySearch and EasyFundRasing, bring the total to over £90 since we started a few months ago. Thanks you for you support. Please spread the word and ask you friends and family to consider using our internet search tool.
Classical Guitar Concert Combined with the MADHURST festival, the church will play host to a Richard Durrant, Classical guitar concert on Thursday 26th August. Start time is 7.30pm. Christian Aid Week Christian Aid week begins on Sunday 9th May with a service at the Roman Catholic Church, Bepton Road. There will be a talk on Kenya and refreshments afterwards.

Confirmation Classes Fr Marcus will soon be starting some Confirmation Classes for young people and adults. If you would like to take part, please sign the sheet at the back of the church, or speak with Fr. Marcus. The Confirmation service will be on June 20th.
24/7 Week of Prayer Midhurst United Churches week of prayer will be held in St. Anne’s Hall from Sunday May 2nd to Sunday May 9th. The list to sign is in the porch. Further details can be obtained from Jonathan Watson.
